Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is Gods son. When sin came into the world mankind became separated from God and the only way to resolve this and enable people to have a personal relationship with God was for Jesus to live as a man and to die in our place so that the price for sin would be paid.

The Bible says
God so loved and deeply prized the world that he gave up his only son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life
John 3 v 16
 

By this we come to know the essential love that he laid down his own life for us and we also aught to lay down our lives for our brothers
1 John 3 v 16
